<a href="http://www.hach.com/" target="_blank">Hach Company</a> in Loveland,
Colorado awards the
<a href="http://http://littleshop.physics.colostate.edu/" target="_blank">Little
Shop of Physics</a> $26,250 to help fund CMMAP's summer
"Weather and Climate for Teachers" course.<p></p>

CMMAP will host the second annual summer course for K-12 teachers to provide background in basic sciences, earth system science and climate science, with an emphasis on hands-on investigatory activities that they can use in their own classes. The Little Shop of Physics is a key player in developing and presenting the workshops for the course.<p></p>

The workshops are significant professional development opportunities for teachers in the fields of science. Each of the 30 teachers who take part will receive 30+ hours of instruction from professionals in atmospheric science and science education, 2 hours of academic credit, hands-on materials to take back to their classes, and a stipend. Teachers will develop instructional modules as part of the workshop that they will test in their classes and then share during a follow-up session during the academic year. CMMAP is collecting these activities and sharing them more widely over the web and through other workshops.<p></p>

Thanks to the support from the Hach Company, CMMAP is able to accommodate 10 additional teachers in the summer course.<p></p>
