The short version of this email is: The theme group on Interactions of Deep and Shallow Convection and Turbulence will be meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 16 in the morning during the first breakout session. We are asking for short reports (1 minute to 10 minutes or so) on progress and plans related to this theme. Please let us know by Monday evening. Thanks! Moeng: very large LES of a CBL--- (2048)^3 grid points Krueger: progress with SAM - Analyze observational datasets. ACTION ITEM: Identify and/or develop appropriate datasets. ISSUES - Computer time will be required for the proposed simulations. - Large size of large-domain LES output dataset will make it a challenge to access and analyze. We need help to design. - Access to SP-CAM code and results: We need a clone of Marat! From Steve Krueger Date January 9, 2008 I have not received any responses so I am not sure that the mailing list is operating properly. Please respond to let me know if you will be at the CMMAP meeting and plan to attend the break out session. Suggestions for topics to discuss other than what is listed below are welcome. If you don't want to make a presentation yourself, please send me a short progress report that I can present as part of our report to plenary. It will help us to have that information before the break out session (by Tuesday). If you do want to make a presentation, please send me a copy of it, or a short report, whichever you prefer.
