Group Research
I've been working with the CSU
GCM (and its predecessor, the UCLA/GLA GCM) for more than 13 years.
During that time I have maintained the code and worked on its development.
Some of the tasks I've accomplished in that time are:
Installation of SiB2
(Simple Biosphere)
Shallow water version of the code.
Parallel implementation for Cray PVP and SGI shared memory machines.
Implementation of the CSU Flux
Coupler for coupled climate system modeling.
Current Work
As a part of my PhD research I am coupling the CSU
GCM to TOMS
ocean model to simulate and study the seasonal cycle in the tropical Pacific
Ocean (David Randall,
advisor). The CSU
GCM is run at 4x5 degree horizontal resolution and TOMS
is run at 0.5 degree resolution over a domain that extends from 40S to
40N latitude, and from 120E to 70W longitude.
