Rachel McCrary
I am a graduate research assistant in the Department of Atmospheric Science at
Colorado State University. My research focuses on the evaluation of general
circulation models (GCMs). For my master's research project I evaluated the
ability of coupled GCMs to represent long-term drought over the Great Plains of
the United States. For my Ph.D. project I have been evaluating the ability of
the SP-CAM to simulate the West African Monsoon. In particular I have been
looking at the connection between convection and African Easterly Waves as
simulated in the model. I have also been examining the simulation of the
low-level jet over West Africa.
In my free time I enjoy biking, hiking, yoga, cooking, reading, watching movies
and hanging out with my friends and family.
