- Little Shop of Physics fuels students’ interests
Nearly 1000 Texas middle-school students became scientists as they were let
loose to explore hands-on demonstrations at the first day of HESTEC’s Middle
School Challenge.
- Photographer James Balog Presents at CSU
Science met art in stunning images as Monfort Professor-in-Residence James
Balog came to Colorado State University November 7 & 8 to lecture on his
experiences photographing nature and documenting climate change.

An American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) report
focused on the contributions of National Science Foundation Centers including

- "Science Cafe" Talk
CMMAP's Director for Education and Diversity, Scott Denning, gave a talk
at a local Fort Collins, CO restaurant entitled, "Understanding Climate
Change: It's Simpler than You Think!". The talk was given April 13 and drew
a nice crowd at Avogadro's Number.
- Book on the History of Global Atmospheric Modeling Available
One of CMMAP's publishing activities is complete and now available. The
book entitled "The Development of Atmospheric General Circulation Models:
Complexity, Synthesis and Computation" is available from Cambridge Press.

- Little Shop of Physics Open House
Colorado State University's and CMMAP partner Little Shop of Physics
experienced record attendees to their Open House on February 26. An
estimated 7000 youth and adults visited a large number of exhibits,
hands-on activities and presentations.

Beginning in July, we welcomed three new employees to the CMMAP family. Connie
Hale, already working for David Randall at CSU, was promoted to Operations
Manager, Brent Waugh came on board as Events Coordinator and Marcia
Donnelson stepped into the position of Managing Director.
